Rolex raised gold prices twice in one year

A June increase on gold Rolex models followed a January hike that averaged over six percent, an unusual pace even for a brand that raises prices annually.

Rolex raises prices most years, but rarely twice in the same one. On June 1, 2026, the brand pushed through its second increase of the year, roughly 5% on gold models worldwide, following a broader hike in January that averaged 6.2% across major markets including the US.

Gold only, and that's the tell

The June increase left steel, platinum, titanium and white Rolesor pieces untouched, landing exclusively on yellow, white and Everose gold models. A yellow gold Day-Date 36 went from $43,700 to $45,900. The Yacht-Master II reference 126688 climbed from $57,800 to $60,700. Both moves track almost exactly with the metal, not with demand or scarcity on any particular reference.

Rolex isn't alone in this

Other Swiss houses made similar gold-driven adjustments around the same window, Cartier among them, which points to the same pressure sitting under all of it: rising gold costs and currency movement squeezing margins across the industry at once, rather than any single brand repricing its own catalogue on its own logic.

What it means for a buyer

Two increases in one calendar year is rare enough that it's worth knowing about even outside the trade press. It doesn't change what a steel Submariner or a titanium Yacht-Master costs today, but a gold piece on a wish list is a moving target more than usual this year.
